What is London Anime & Gaming Con? London Anime Con is a fun and friendly anime and gaming convention that takes place in the UK. It is now a 3,000+ person two and a half day event.

What are the prices?
Full Pass inc Friday Evening and all of Sat and Sun - £26 (If you Buy Now Via Website)
Friday Pay On the Day (Open 6pm to Midnight) - £5
Saturday Pay On the Day - £14 (£14 via website)
Sunday Pay On the Day - £13 (£13 via Website)
Evening Only Pass (6pm onward) - £7 on the door for Sat, £6 for Sunday
Accommodation - £20-25 a night

What are the opening times? Doors open at 10:30am to prepaid and at 11am to those paying on the day.

What ages are allowed in?
- All ages are allowed, but please note LAGC is primarily an adult themed con and some events may contain adult themes and language intended for a more mature audience. It is the guardian's responsibility if they wish to bring minors along to the event and we take no responsibility if any content is not suitable for a younger audience.
- You MUST have ID and be 18+ if wish to be served at the bar.
- Anyone under 16 must be accompanied with an adult.
- Anyone under 18 may not attend the event past 8pm as the evening activities are 18+ only.

What do I get if I pay beforehand? Guaranteed Entry, Early entry at 10:30am and a free Conbook and conbadge. Price is also less than on the door.

Can I not register and just pay on the day? Yes, you can. It costs £14 for Saturday and £13 for Sunday entry (so £27 for the two days). There is no need to pre-register or pre-pay for this. Note that we can not guarantee entry, but we will always make a front-page announcement if it looks likely we are going to sell out.

How Often Does London Anime Con take place? We are a bi-annual convention taking place every July and February.

What are my options for accommodation?
You have two options for staying over. You can - 1. Stay with us at our hostel where we have a large group booking (Note everyone staying at the hostel MUST be 18 years or over). Cost is low at just £40 for two nights and £60 for three nights due to it being a hostel and thereby dorm accommodation. It is about 15 minutes tube journey away from the venue, and you can book it with us when you register.
2. Book your own hotel. We recommend checking out allinlondon.co.uk, specifically hotels near holloway road. Of course, you can also check out the travelodge website for the best value hotel rooms. The closest you can find is the London Kings Cross which is about 1.5 miles away, which is about a 25 minute walk, or a short five minute tube-journey.
3. Stay at Summerbreaks. Definitely worth checking out, just a couple stops away and at 38 pounds a night for your own room is very good. Book here

What time is the last tube back from the venue? The tube station closes at about 12:15am, so you should be able to stay until the end (ie: midnight) provided you leave quickly and your hotel is on the same line (so Kings Cross would be fine). If your hotel is further away, then to be safe, we would recommend leaving at about 11:30pm to guarantee you can get your connection.
Of course, if the worst comes to it, there are usually 24 hour buses at all times. We recommend checking out the journey planner on www.tfl.gov.uk (the official travel for london website). If you need help on the day getting back, then please ask our front-desk and we can help map out your route, or provide you with a taxi number if need be.

What's this about the free pre-party on the Friday evening of the con? For all pre-paid weekend ticket holders there will be a free anime, gaming and cosplay party the evening before the con this Friday from 9pm till midnight. Q - How can I be up to date with any changes/major happenings on the day?
Make sure to follow @londonanimecon twitter and #lac7 your tweets – All timetable cancellations and changes will be put up on our @londonanimecon twitter account. We will also be tweeting about events of interests and happenings throughout the day. Make sure to #lac7 tag your tweets and we will RT ones that may interest the attendees.

Q - If I don't have twitter on my phone?
Don't worry - The LAC twitter will be displayed prominently on a screen in the reception and on the screen next to the stage in the Student Union. We will also sign-post any major changes.

Q - How and where do I sign up for events?
Take place at registrations unless otherwise stated. Please ensure you turn up half an hour prior to the event or tournament and a member of staff will show you where to go or what to do.

Q - Is there a place to store my luggage/bags?
Yes, when you go inside there is a bag storage area to your first right. Cost is one pound per bag or item.

Q - Am I allowed to bring food and drink in?
The convention has a licensed bar in it, and as such bringing in any drink whether alcoholic or not is disallowed. The bringing in of hot food is also disallowed. You are allowed to bring in cold food.

Q - Does this include soft drinks and bottled water?
Again unfortunately yes. However, free water is available from the bar at any time.

Q - Do you allow Group Bookings for clubs/societies?
Yes we do. A club/society booking has a considerable discount, getting your members in at just £18 for the entire weekend. (normally it is £27 on the door or £22 online pre-pay). Provided your club or society has a proof of existance (ie: website, fb group etc), then we will allow you to put in a group booking. Note that a club/society must also be regularly meeting up. A group booking requires a minimum of 8 people to be placed under it. Your society will be invoiced and will need to pay in one go for all it's members (we allow BACS, paypal and cheque) by two weeks prior to the event. Thereafter simply hand us a namelist at any time before the event and your members will get in via providing proof of ID on the door as normal. To book, just email info@animeleague.com with your society's name and proof of existance and how many you wish to book for.

Registering & Paying

Q - What is a Supporting Member?
A - The type of member badge you get for LAC depends on which clan you wish to be in. A supporting member gets to have all three badges rather than just one. They also get priority access in the first half hour of opening to the dealers room and any guest signings. Read more HERE. You can ONLY get supporting membership if you register and pre-pay beforehand.

Q - How Do I Pay for London Anime Con?
If you registered with a forum account, log in to the LAC site and clicking "Your profile". There you can pay via paypal. Note you do not need a paypal account to do this, if you click it anyway, then if you don't have an account, select the option "pay with a debit/credit card". If you did not register with a forum account, please follow the link that was emailed to you.

Q - I don't have paypal/google, can I pay via other means?
Yes, we offer payment via BACS bank transfer and cash/cheque/postal-order through post. Please email us on info@animeleague.com and we will provide details.

Q - Can I register for more than one person?
Yes, click on "Your Profile" and then click on "Add Registration". Please note each person must bring their own proof of ID to the event. We allow you to register for up to six people.

Q - I have a group of more than 6 people, how do I register them?
You will need to email info@animeleague.com to arrange a group booking. If you're a club or society you may be eligible for a 10% discount on your tickets.

Q - Can I edit and/or delete a registration?
Yes, once in "Your profile" simply click edit or delete. The total you owe will be changed to reflect this.

Q - Can I pay for someone else who isn't associated with my account?
Yes, please email us on info@animeleague.com stating who you'd like to pay for and how you wish to pay.

Q - I need a refund, how can I get one?
If you wish to cancel your any aspect of your registration including accommodation, we will, at our discretion, offer a refund minus a £10 administration fee on entry and a further £10 administration fee if you also have accommodation when the refund is conducted 8 weeks beforehand. Thereafter, any refund will not be granted. We will allow transfers of your membership to someone else at any time up to four weeks prior to the event if you email us for no fee.

Q - I've paid, do you send me a ticket in the post?
A - We send you a ticket via email. Please bring this ticket along on the day to gain entry. If you have paid and haven't received your ticket after 48 hours, please email us.

Q - I can't print my ticket. What do I do?
A - You can bring a digital copy of your ticket on your mobile device (phone/tablet). If you don't have these, bring proof of ID such as a driver licence, passport etc to get in.

Arriving in & Collecting Passes on Day

Q - I've paid, do you send me a ticket in the post?
A - We send you a ticket via email. Please bring this ticket along on the day to gain entry. If you have paid and haven't received your ticket after 48 hours, please email us.

Q - Is there a number I can contact if I get lost?

Q - Do I need ID?
A - If you wish to stay after 8PM for the parties then must bring a proof of ID. If you don't have ID then bring along your ticket to get into the daytime events. You won't be allowed to stay after 8PM unless you clearly look over 18.

Q - What ID do you accept?
A - To stay over 8PM, you MUST provide a proof of ID with your date of birth (and ideally a photo) on it to be able to enter. Valid forms of ID includes Passport, Drivers License, Citizens Card or any form of photo ID with a PASS logo on it (most student cards). If you lack this, we will accept a birth certificate or anything with your name on it such as a bank-card, provided you look 18 or older.

Q - How Do I Queue for My Wristband and get in?
A - As you queue outside, our staff will walk through the queue with clipboards and wristbands asking for your ID, checking you off our list, and then issue your wristband, which will act as your proof of payment and entry - make sure not to lose or remove it! Once you have your wristband you do not need to queue and can go straight in. If you are issued with a two-day wristband and collected it on Saturday, you will not need to queue again for Sunday.

Q - How do I collect my conbadge, t-shirt and/or conbook?
A - If you're pre-registered you get a blank conbadge immediately outside, and a conbook immediately upon entering from the reception. Conbadges with printed names and t-shirts you can collect any time after 1pm when it's less busy.

Q - Am I required to carry my ID around on me during the convention?
A - Yes, since wearing your wristband and conbadge is not a completely thorough way of checking you are who you say you are (since badges can be swapped). As such, you will be required to carry your ID around on you if we deem an extra check is necessary.


Is it all ages or 18+? Hostel staying is 18+ only. You MUST be 18 or over.

Where are we staying? We will be staying at the Smart Russell Square Hostel which is a few stops on the underground from the Event.

Can I get my own room, or is it dorms only? It's dorms only, each dorm being between 8 to 12 beds in size. This helps keep the price low and there is the added benefit that it leads to a very fun and social atmosphere. If noise is a problem, we have dorms which are smaller (ie: 6 beds) and specifically labelled as quiet with lights out by midnight. All of our dorms are exclusively ours.

Can I pick my dorm and who I stay with? Yes, please do so in this topic here.

Is there a breakfast provided? Yes, a free continental breakfast (ie: toast, cereal, tea and juice) is provided in the dover-castle bar.

What is the price? The price is £40 for two nights (Fri/Sat), or £60 for all three nights.

How do I get accommodation? You signup for accommodation upon registering. That is at http://www.londonanimecon/register.php

Can I bring friends into the dorms? Visitors are NOT allowed to go up into the dorms. If you want to get into the dorms, you have to pay for a place.

Where is the hostel reception? That is located downstairs in the basement. As you enter, it's first on your right.

How do I get in and out of the hostel? How do I get a Dorm Key? To get into the hostel itself, you will be provided with a code which you punch in. For the dorm, you require a keycard. You get this on arrive by giving us a £5 deposit. Everyone staying needs a keycard to get into the building. The deposit will be returned to you when you depart in exchange for the keycard.

Is there a security locker to leave high-value items in? Yes, there are lockers downstairs in reception.

How do I meet up with all of you on Friday? We will all be meeting at Russell Square Underground Station at 2PM to go onto the hostel. If you are arriving later or can not find us, make sure to call us on 07746 124194 .

What is there to do on the Friday? The idea of the Friday is to have a day going around London enjoying ourselves.

Does the hostel provide towels? You will need to bring your own towels, since the dorms are not ensuite.

What time are check-outs? You must be checked out by 10.30am on the day of your departure.

Rules & Regulations

Am I allowed to bring food and drink in? The convention has a licensed bar in it, and as such bringing in any drink whether alcoholic or not is disallowed. The bringing in of any food (hot or cold) is also disallowed, however you are welcome to go out to eat in the local area and come back in later. We also provide a food cart which serves burgers and chips.

Q - I'm cosplaying with a weapon that may be dangerous. Is this okay?
A - Make sure to read the cosplaying rules here first. All weapons will be checked by the registrations team and if they consider it as a risk to others we will send you to Ops where it will be stored. If you going to be part of the cosplay masquerade you will be able to pick it up but must return it to us to look after or keep it in your own room.

Q - I need a refund, how can I get one?
